고요히 머물다.
나와 우리를 둘러싼 세상에 대하여
세상의 안과 밖
여기와 저 너머에 대하여
산다는 것의 아득함, 쓸쓸함
살아있음에 대하여
살아있음의 경이로움에 대하여
우리가 만들어 가야 할 길에 대하여
희망에 대하여
고요히 머물러 생각하다
나를 돌아보다
그리기의 행복함
그 동안 세 번의 개인전이 판화전 이었다.
판화작업은 나름대로 매력이 있었고 내게 많은 것을 주었으나
판이라는 중간자 없이 나와 그림이 직접 마주하고 싶은 욕구가
마음 한 구석에 자리하곤 했다.
이번 전시의 작품들에는 나와 그림 사이에 판이 없다.
빈 캔버스가 내 앞에 놓였을 때
마치 이를 처음으로 대하는 사람처럼 설레고 긴장되어
첫 획을 내긋기가 쉽지는 않았다.
점 하나에 의기소침하고 선 하나에 좌절하곤 했지만
그린다는 것으로 행복했다.
내가 그림과 마주하는 시간이 더해지는 만큼씩
그림에 가지는 애정과 갈등의 깊이 만큼씩
내 그림도 그 만큼씩 변화되어 가기를.
나의 그림그리기가 처음처럼 늘 행복하기를.
궁극적으로 그리기란
그림을 보는 이들의 삶을 풍요하게 하고
아울러 작가 자신의 삶도 풍요롭게 해준다.
그리기의 목적은
살아남고 이겨내고 일어서는 것이다.
행복해지는 것이다

Reminiscing myself
I have had private printing exhibitions three times.
Engraving works was very fascinating and I could learn a lot with them,
However I have been oppressing the desire which I face the paints without
the plate between me and the canvas in times.
I painted these all works directly by myself in this time.
When an facing the empty canvas, I was so nervous and fluttered like
a brandnew painter and had a hard time to make the first stroke.
Though I was in low spirits with a dot and discouraged with a line, I felt
happy with my own painting.
My work may be improving as long as I spend time with my works and as my
love and conflict to my works are growing.
And
May be happy with painting at all times as my first stroke.
Eventually, Drawing is
Enriching the life of spectators
As well as life of the artist
The purpose of drawing is
To survive, to win, to stand alone
And to become happy
